Today, President Vladimir Putin held the 39th meeting of the Russian organizing Committee "Victory". It was dedicated to the development of humanitarian cooperation with foreign countries at the state and community levels to promote objective historical and current information about Russia, including its role in the victory over Nazism.

The meeting was attended by veterans of the great Patriotic war, representatives of the Russian Government, Federal ministries, Executive authorities, heads of public organizations and mass media. A report on more than 70 years of experience in public diplomacy Volgograd was made by the head of the city Andrey Kosolapov.

As you know, today Volgograd is twinned with 45 cities, Vice-President and member of ten international organizations, including those known as "Mayors for peace", "United cities and local governments", international Association "twin cities", Association of peace messenger cities.

The mission of Volgograd, as the founder of the international movement of twin cities, we see first of all in defending and promoting the historical truth about the great Patriotic war abroad, – said in his speech Andrey Kosolapov.

- We have a huge desire to develop work on public diplomacy and deserved to make her the center of Volgograd, - said in his speech, the head of the city. We believe that it is necessary to strengthen and expand this form of cooperation really contribute to the formation of a "field of trust" in relations with residents of foreign countries, strengthening of sympathy for our country and trying to communicate truthful information about Russia.

The proposals Andrey Kosolapov, including on ensuring a systematic approach to the support of the international activities of cities from the relevant Federal authorities, transferred to the Russian organizing Committee "Victory" for consideration and preparation of the Protocol decision.
